📚🏉 A Night to Remember at Arklow Rugby Club
What an incredible evening we had at Arklow Rugby Club as we welcomed one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers, Paul Howard, for a night of laughter, insight and storytelling in support of the Eimear Byrne fundraising appeal. The event raised €800 which will go towards the fund for the life saving surgery that Eimear needs in the US.
Hosted in partnership with the fantastic Arklow Writers’ Group, the clubhouse was packed with a brilliant audience who were treated to a hugely entertaining “fireside chat” with Paul, expertly guided by journalist Jillian Godsil and introduced by Noline Foley.
From the origins of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly to reflections on rugby culture, writing, and modern Ireland, Paul had the room captivated from start to finish. The laughs came thick and fast, and the stories kept everyone hanging on every word. Thank you again to Paul for making himself available in support of Eimear's campaign.
We were also delighted to see the event featured in the national media 👉

It was a fantastic example of community spirit, and a reminder of how powerful sport, storytelling and people coming together can be.
